Noor Shimariza Ashikin binti Wan Hussin is presently employed as a lecturer since 2015 at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, DRB-Hicom University of Automotive Malaysia, DHU (formerly known as ICAM). Noor Shimariza received her Bachelor of Science with Honours in Chemistry at MARA University of Technology (UiTM) in 2006 and completed her Master of Science (Pharmaceutics) from UiTM in 2011. Throughout this period, she has shown immense interest in pharmaceutical research and possesses strong determination to translate research theories and findings into practice.
She has won the best Poster award on thin layer drying of alginate biopolymer at 15th Regional Symposium on Chemical Engineering held in Malaysia 2008 and has published a research journal article with Carbohydrate Polymer, Elsevier on Plasticity of hot air-dried mannuronate-and guluronate-rich alginate in 2010. With current impact factor of journal at 7.182, she was then awarded with high impact factor journal publication prize in 2011 by UiTM. In addition to this, she also published in a journal on Drying Technology entitled Evaporation and Diffusion Transport Properties and Mechanical Properties of Alginate Dried Film in 2013. Her paper entitled Toenail as Non-invasive Biomarker in Metal Toxicity Measurement of Welding Fumes Exposure -A Review was presented at the Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2017.
From 2011 until 2015, she taught the Diploma and Bachelor programmes to pharmacy students at KPJ Healthcare University College, Malaysia. Being an educator since 2011, she has been appointed as Programme Coordinator for Foundation in Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at DHU. She also supervised students’ Final Year Projects for Diploma and Bachelor programmes. She has also been appointed as a committee member for new programme development under Faculty of Engineering & Technology, DHU.
